The small rorqual

(balaenoptera acutorostrata)

Le petit Rorqual

They are grey-black on the back and white on the stomach. The body is slender. The small rorqual is characterized by white strips on its pectoral fins, its head is short and pointed, its rostrum flattened. Its maximum length is 10 meters.

The small rorquals are curious and gladly come close to the stationery boats. On the other hand, in the areas full of motorized boats, they are indifferent or distrustful.

They arrive in our area in May and leave in August.
