Its sides have a uniform dark grey tinge getting brightener around the abdomen. Its short rostrum is well marked. The line of its mouth curving toward the top gives the impression it is smiling.

Length between 2m and 4m for males, females are lightly smaller. Average weight between 150 and 600 kgs. Its life expectancy is from 30 to 40 years.

We can see him in open sea but also near to the coasts where it likes to play in pods of 2 to 20 subjects.
