We recognize him thanks to its silvered flame between the eye and the dorsal flipper. Two dark strips go from the eye to the caudal fin, its dorsal fin is of average size and sickle formed.

Maximum length is 2.40 meters and weight from 100 to 150 kgs for males, females being lightly smaller. Its life expectancy is around 40 years.
